Weekly topics

The registration for Camp Krugozor 2026 is open! Book your spots in the summer fun this year. Eight weeks in a Russian-speaking camp created to support the Russian language skills of your child.    

 

Please see below the weekly features, unique and exciting topics of Camp Krugozor 2026. Please note, that up until May 2026 we could change the topics of the weeks based on camp leader's availability. Each week campers spend the first part of the day outside. Do you know what was the favorite part of it in 2025? Outside pool twice a week! It was the best Summer Camp field trip!  

Week 1

History Walk: Ancient Egypt

We craft and cook like Ancient Egyptians. We will do a paper by ourself from scratch. We will build the reed boat an shadoof. Make a copy of ancient Egyptian jewelry and carve a sacred scarab from soap.

Week 2

History Walk: Ancient America

We craft and cook like Indigenous Peoples. Do you want to do a totem pole? Let's build a pueblo, create a calendar-chronicle of the Dakota Indians, bake Bannock bread, make popcorn, and make fig marshmallows. 

July 6 – July 10

Week 3

History Walk: Medieval Times

We craft and cook like people do in knight's era. We will make a Robin Hood hat and a real medieval puppet doll. We will make candles and sundial. Weave a real colorful rope belt for clothes and bake a gingerbread men.

July 13 – July 17

Week 4

All about Nature

Let's walk through the forest and see what we usually do not notice. We will be very curious and examine secret places. Collect water samples from water bodies and examine them under a microscope. Explore plant cells. Do you know how earthworms "prepare" the soil? Let's find out! We will grow mould "out of thin air" and create our own world: plant plants in the florarium. 

July 20 – July 24

Week 5

I am an architect

Let's create a real city with houses, streets, suspension bridges and parks. Let's run the electricity. Let's make the inhabitants. Let's give the city a name, names to the residents and come up with an exciting story about this place. We will work with different techniques and materials. Everyone can show their imagination and create something completely original. And in the end, we will prepare authentic sweets, bake cookies and arrange a holiday feast.

July 27 – July 31

Week 6

I am a designer

Design is everywhere around us. We will craft and sew, work with a needle and thread, do a tapestry and design a costumes. We will do a project of our own soft toy and make it real! We will design a jewelry and plates. 

August 4 – August 7 
(no camp on Mon, Aug 3rd)

Week 7

I am an illustrator

We will try different illustration styles - from picture book to chapter. Write your own story in Russian and do a masterpiece  - the real book with your own illustrations. 

August 10 – August 14

Week 8

I am an artist

Create. Create. Create. Painting and drawing, tempera, acrylic and watercolor, oil and soft pastel, charcoal and sanguine. Sculpting and printmaking. All days of the week are full of creative projects. We will work in studio and open air. 

August 17– August 21

9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Weekly Fee: $400 (week 1 and 6: $320 - four working days)


Before and after care:
8:00 am - 9:00 am  FREE
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm  $50 per week

Children 4 to 10 years old.
